Applications open for NASA Space Grant Internships, Fellowships, and Scholarships for the 2024-25 school year

Each year Delaware Space Grant awards STEM students in Delaware and their mentors with Graduate Fellowships, Undergraduate Tuition Awards, and Summer Research Stipends for interns. Applications for these opportunities are open now!

  • Graduate Fellowships
    • Fellowships provide stipends of $36,000 to highly qualified graduate students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics who are currently attending a DESGC member institution. Stipends are for one full year, and all recipients of these awards must be US Citizens.
    • Application Due Date: Friday, February 23, 2024
  • Undergraduate Tuition Awards
    • Delaware Space Grant annually grants awards to highly qualified undergraduate students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and geography who are currently attending a DESGC Consortium institution. Tuition awards are up to $5,000 per student, and all recipients must be US Citizens.
    • Application Due Date: Friday, March 8, 2024
  • Undergraduate Summer Research Internships
    • Delaware Space Grant provides summer stipends of up to $5,000 to undergraduates in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math, and geography who are currently enrolled at a DESGC institution.  Recipients must be US Citizens.  Students will work on a research project with a faculty mentor at the institution they attend or at any DESGC affiliate institution.  Applications must be submitted by the faculty mentor.

  • Augmented Undergraduate Summer Research Internships
    • Need a research mentor?  We will assist in finding a match.  This program provides summer stipends of up to $5,000 to undergraduates in STEM fields who are currently enrolled at a DESGC institution.  Recipients must be US Citizens.
    • Application Due Date: Friday, February 9, 2024. Apply by email to DESpaceGrant@udel.edu: include a brief description of your research area of interest and attach a copy of your resume. DE Space Grant will assist in locating a mentor. 
  • NASA On-Site Summer Research Internships
    • Students are invited to apply for internships all over the country where they will work with real NASA scientists on current NASA research projects. A single application places students in the applicant pool for consideration by mentors for all NASA internships. The summer internship stipend for undergraduate students is $7,300, and recipients must be US Citizens.
    • Internship applications at centers open on a rolling basis, but most applications are due in February.
